The FCCLA National Leadership Competition took place June 27 - July 3 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kaylee Thompson and Calvin Ross won the gold medal for their Food Innovations creation of red quinoa vegan chili. Back in March, the duo created a vegan main dish with 15 grams of protein marketed towards teens. They created packaging, marketing, pricing and did an oral presentation to a panel of judges. Their win locally earned them an invitation to the Nationals in Atlanta.
