Medical Lake Alternative High School

Our mission at Medical Lake Alterntive High School is to educate students academically, emotionally, and socially and to develop within each student an internal desire to continue the learning process.

Medical Lake Alternative High School serves students, ages 14-21, wishing to receive high school credit. At this time, approximately 40 students from the Medical Lake and surrounding communities are being served.

All students have individual Written Student Learning Plans which focus on the curriculum they need. Students have the opportunity to study using traditional methods or through computer programs and on-line learning. Schedules vary according to student need, which accommodates a variety of students, such as students with children; students who are working full time; dual enrolled students attending Running Start, Skill Center, or Medical Lake High School; and students wishing to attend full time.

Students attending our school find a friendly, home-like atmosphere with a warm, knowledgeable staff.

Did You Know??  (Random Facts About Our School )

Sports:

Did you know that students who attend alternative schools are eligible to participate in sports on their home district high school teams?

Lunches:

Did you know that most of our students eat school lunch?  The cafeteria at MLHS takes our orders in the morning, and puts together a full lunch for students which is brought over to our school. BUT, did you know that our students can bring their own lunches and use the refrigerator and microwave to prepare them?

Building:

Did you know our building was formerly the Rockwood Medical Clinic?  And did you know that one of our attending students was actually born in what is now our school?
