Soaring into the Future to Create a Better Tomorrow

  • Staff Development Opportunities

Welcome to the new MLSD staff training and staff development page! If you are here to complete a required training, such as Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying awareness, you will find the information on the left side of this page. There will be a series of clock hour opportunities during the 2012-2013 school year for technology training for staff. The trainings will occur monthly, with different topics each month. The clock hours will accumulate over the school year and will be applied in June.

Technology Classes for Clock Hours
Classes are planned monthly throughout the 2012-2013 school year with ideas for technology integration in the classroom. Watch for the following: Schoolwires (Centricity), Discovery Education Videos (United Streaming), online databases, student created videos (as easy format), alternative presentation tools in the classroom and a few more. If you are interested in teaching any of these classes, please contact Mary Kay at the middle school.

Due to a snow day and illness, we've missed two of our planned times for technology clock hour classes.  Here's the schedule for the rest of the year:

Monday, March 25: Student created videos - an easy format
Monday, April 29: Schoolwires (forms, blogs, photos, and more)

In December we had a great workshop on the databases available in the district. Below are the links. You will need a password, which you can get at any of the media centers, to access these sites at home. All are accessible without a password at school:
